I wish they'd go with Jim Jordan. I love listening to him talk. He sounds like we all would if the atmosphere was mostly made up of Helium. It's kind of cool if you ask me.

I'd rather pierce my eardrums with a hot poker. I still haven't recovered from the Ohio GOP's other gift, John Boehner, being Speaker for entirely too long.

McCarthy was reelected Republican leader. He will be the next Speaker (unless the Dems manufacture a bunch of mail in ballots in those 8 CA House races still not called, half of which the Republican leads--and Dems hold their lead in the ridiculous ranked choice systems in Alaska and Maine).

The vote held yesterday was not the Official vote for speaker. That will not happen until the new Congress convenes. What remains to be seen is if Biggs actually does mount a challenge and how the 31 (mostly Freedom Caucus members) who voted for Biggs actually vote when the Speaker Vote is held

Perhaps thats the way it should be done for all of congress. We vote in the ones who would meet up at lunch and then they would all have 1 week to find the actual representative for the people.

It would be great and probably be a better representative of the people. These "elected" officials would all go out and grab their people from assorted places like gun ranges, Starbucks, monster truck shows, Tesla dealers, concerts, rural diners, fancy big city restaurants, bars, nightclubs, etc...

Just some random person off the street would do a much better job then the clowns sitting in now!
