I haven’t heard anyone saying we can control the weather. But it is true that we can influence the climate. If we could magically stop all CO2 emissions today, that would reduce the eventual extent of global warming.

Is that desirable? I don’t know. I’m not convinced that a warmer climate is necessarily bad. Or that keeping the temperature down is worth the cost.

Yep. That's the, um, inconvenient truth, if you will.

No we can’t, again the richest countries on planet earth (rich oil gulf countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait) would’ve did so a long time. Their summers are scorching HOT, record breaking hot.

There is nothing they can do about it but turn on the AC.

the earth exists for humans to use it’s resources and prosper. now if one is concerned about malevolent carbon dioxide making long term weather undesirable there is great news. apparently there are naturally growing organic plant based life forms that grow very tall and reduce those naughty carbon levels. the best thing is, you can get the seeds everywhere and for free. also, it doesn’t cost nothin to plant them

Peace to you. I admire your efforts. I too am vegan. Have been for 10 years. But I feel that there are many others preaching the climate change gospel who are still eating meat. It's a shame.

OP Do liberals actually think Democrats will solve Climate Change?

Most analysts view The Inflation Reduction Act’s $370 billion investment in clean energy, a tipping point toward moving beyond fossil fuels. Thank you, Biden administration and Democratic leaders. Always best to be part of working toward solutions than being part of the problems.

Congratulations, you now have the lead for the worst POC posting in 2023.

Beyond stupid.

There are NO SOLUTIONS for man to control weather.

And science is ALWAYS supposed to be questioned. As is authority.

So that's all it took? Only $370 billion. After trillions spent, I'm glad that we're past that "tipping point"!

Have you ever read Diet for a Small Planet by Frances Moore Lappé? It is a 1971 book that broke new ground, revealing how our everyday acts are a form of power to create health for ourselves and our planet. It was an extraordinary book for its time, and it showed how world hunger is not caused by a lack of food but by ineffective food policy. In addition to the prescient information on meat production and its impact on hunger, the book featured simple rules for a healthy diet and hundreds of meat-free recipes.

It has had multiple editions with its latest, I believe, on the 50th anniversary of its first publication and through the years other editions added timely new environmental information and updated recipes. I heard somewhere that more than 3 million copies have been sold.

Happy New Year, Jena, I admire your activism.
