No.

Florida can't call the national guard to Texas.

He's just fooling some of the people.

Because you can't . . . well, you know.

Political stunts Florida national guard has to work under control of the Border Patrol. Immigrant is caught handed over to BP they claim political asylum and they are let go with a court date sometime in the next 20 years. They jump on a bus and head north to their other family who already been living in the US for years working for employers.

Ok. Here it is.

Abbott has requested the National Guard from Florida, on Florida's dime, and Florida is apparently going to comply with that formal request from the Texas Governor.

Mighty generous, at the start of Hurricane Season.

Too bad DeSantis can't get fix all the missing street name signs on state roads in Florida. These signs were destroyed in Sept 2022 from Hurricane Ian, 8 months ago. Perhaps he can send the FL National Guard to order and install those signs. Lots of missing street name signs at major intersections in Florida - on state maintained roads. 8 months is a long time.

Instead, he's sending the guard to Texas.

Nope, there is only 700 miles of wall/fencing on our southern border.

Being show ponies. I think it would be nice to hear from those who went the last time. See if what they were doing was a good use of the NG.

I found this from Texas.

That's 4.17 years.

Sounds like a great system, let's increase it!

It's probably not the National Guard's duty to replace missing street signs. Have you actually read up on why the signs haven't been replaced yet? The devil is in the details, you know.

I don't know what DeSantis can or can't do. I said apparently he was, just going by the discussion in this thread.

Here is the press release re the Texas National Guard from Abbott's website. It's dated May 8th:

For all of those who disagree that Florida is sending NG troops to Texas, perhaps you should redirect your anger to the Biden Administration which consistently refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue at the border.

If the Biden Administration would acknowledge this, instead of trying to make obviously misleading statements that the border is "secure". The Governor of Texas wouldn't need to make these requests.
