Conservative take: the real problem is that not enough people own guns! If more passengers carried weapons, they could immediately shoot the bad guy! Like in the movies (or the O.K. Corral)!

It appears that there was a "No Guns" sticker on the bus. Had there been more stickers perhaps this tragedy could have been avoided.

LOL! I'm sure that would have done the trick. It's obvious that the bad guy just didn't see the "No Guns" sticker.

The perp pulled a gun upon being told "no." The only way to have deescalated before then was to have let him off the bus when he first demanded it...then and every time in the future.

But after the perp had pulled the gun, there's no guarantee he would not have used it.
