Police in Idaho shot two domestic dogs because they were stopping traffic:

The dogs escaped from a nearby yard and were in the road. Cars stopped for them, causing a traffic jam. The police shot them and drug them to the shoulder.

Without knowing the situations sounds terrible but people gotta get where they need to be. I’m not sure why animal control wasn’t called unless the dogs were trying to attack people.

Fire the creep!! I am angry and upset . I love dogs and they are so vulnerable and loving . These are God's creation and a gift to mankind. The picture of the white dog looks just like my Sheena.

Somebody is going to be in hot water. Generally not the way an animal control issue is handled.

Need more information but really on the face of it did nobody have a donut they could've used to lure the dogs off the street.

That is disgusting.

How could that cop so causally shoot someones pets?

The dogs didn't know what they were doing unlike stupid protesters that block roads. The cops treat those nut jobs with kid gloves.

I think the cop needs to be fired and the owners of the dogs should sue.

Ummm...Wow. That do seem a tad extreme. I guess those cops didn't want to stay in the field that day. Cuz The spent the rest of their shift plus doing paper work and answering tough questions from at least an LT. Dogs cats people or alien life it's still an OIS. Officer involved shooting. With a stunt like this they may be seeking gainful employment at Wally World.

This is no different from any other incident where a cop uses their weapon. Jesus are these cops actually THAT braindead Where do they dig up types like this to become cops?

There may well be something unseen and unknown but it's hard for me to give the benefit of the doubt here even though I know I should. But things being as they are at the moment I'm a bit twitterpated by the action taken here. I'm also rather confused by the "video". It was a series of stills not video but I got the jist.

A Dobie and a Great Piranese. Oh my and the dogs "did not respond to their commands. No $h!t Sherlock, Dogs do NOT respond to commands from strangers . Seriously? Gonna use that line again aye? Soooo not responding to commands is a street issued death sentence . I'll remember that.

Don't do it unless you really want to feel disturbed, but if you Google "cop shoots dog" there are a million stories like this.

This situation is really awful, they were gorgeous and obviously beloved dogs. Their family was out of town and they were being watched at a relative's house.

"Carsner claimed she was there to corral the dogs and described the dogs as 'non aggressive' in Facebook posts after the shooting.

She said she had nearly captured the dogs when officers approached her to ask if the dogs were hers.

'(He) told me I should be at home, then told me he was going to shoot them,' Carsner wrote in a Facebook post.

'I screamed no he isn't because I'm there as a rescue & myself & DOZENS of others almost had the dogs in hand,' Carsner continued."
