If it is only stuff and they don't seem to care, why do we have to pay more for the damage that these individuals are costing their business.
Personally, I like Lululemon's quality, fit, etc., but after handling of this and their statement, I will no longer shop there. Why do i have to pay more so others can take it for free while management doesn't care.
These employees cared!
In Europe the security guards at stores are instructed not to do anything and let them take what they grabbed. These security guards are only a prop because the stores insurance requires them to stand there.
Basically, they are opening the doors and that's it. Even in one high end store in Europe we were told after we asked the questions, that the guards are not allowed to lock the doors while the grab and go is in action as these people can become more violent.
What has shopping become...
Let these brands lower their own bottom line instead of us, the good people pay for the freeloaders that are endorsed by these companies.

Nothing funnier than seeing an out-of-shape hoodrat scarfing down a plate of wings while wearing some stolen Lululemon apparel. They probably never did any exercise in their life.
What message does their statement REALLY convey? This: come steal from us. We're willing to go out of business in order to encourage your lowlife criminal behavior.
Let's use their same logic (it's only stuff, thus expendable) in the positive direction rather than than their negative direction:

Why do any of us even have to pay for their merch at all? If they don't care about giving away their merch, they should be giving it away for free to ALL of us.
i guess the ceo is telling us there is no need to pay for lululemon merchandise. the store policy is go into the store, find what you want, and then walk out of the store with the merchandise without paying.

One of the oddest names for a company I've ever heard of. In any event, the world is upside down so why would I expect anything different from a retailer saying that their 'stuff' isn't important.
