President Macron of France wants a global shipping tax on the maritime industry. No agreement reached at the recent Paris summit. Janet Yellen seems to like the idea.

All the countries that make a difference will ignore him.

When was the last time anyone cared what France wanted? They've got a ton of problems bubbling over at the moment. Macron should worry about his own country first. Although I suspect this could be some sort of globalist scheme to shore up the pension fund issues in France. The only way he can solve that issue is by literally stealing from others.

As they should. Who in their right mind would want to end up like France? Best to do the opposite of whatever Macron thinks is best.

I have to wonder who actually supports Macron anymore? The left in America can't after he spoke out against helping Ukraine. Many people see him as a Putin boot licker. Or at best, a Russia/Putin pacifist.

We need Trump back in office. France added a whole bunch of taxes on their products to America and one phone call by Trump ended it all.

It's actually not about France.

Those climate activists don't like diesel-powered ships and kerosene-powered planes.

They want sailboats and electric planes.

How about just manufacturing things in our own countries again instead of shipping everything from a communist country that unleashed a bioweapon on the world??? Seems like a smart idea, so it'll never happen.

Would think Trump's protectionist/tariff approach would actually agree with this just not for environmental reasons of course. Rather a MAGA tax to help domestic industry.

Climate activists have banned your household gas stove and your gasoline automobiles.

What about a company that uses gas to melt metals? Climate activists visited the company too. It must use solar panels now.

A foreign company just uses cheap gas and cheap electricity for melting metals. Thus, its product is 10 times cheaper.

Has John Kerry been reached for comment about this yet? We can't have him flying around in his private jet eating a more expensive foie gras because of the higher taxes... Oh the Humanity!

How does the Left feel about this idea to help fund the War on Climate Change ?
