I don't support either one of those schemes to be anything other than a complete scam.
I have said this before, but the only people who lose from Social Security are those people who die before they collect it and don't leave any dependents who can collect in their stead; and (2) people who are financially well-educated and financially well-off enough to have financially done better by investing the money that was forcefully taken from them to pay into Social Security.
From what I have observed, the only people "belly-aching" about SS are the people who fall into the second category above, but that is probably only a small percentage of the U.S. population. (I don't have any figures, but I would guess that probably at least 70 percent of working adults do not have the necessary education to do well saving and investing on their own -- and that is based on the fact that the median individual income in the U.S. in 2022 was just $46,001, according to this link. https://dqydj.com/average-median-top...e-percentiles/
As for those retirees who do NOT need Social Security, they have my congratulations.
Of course, if SS goes broke before the under 50's of today can collect it, those people WILL have a genuine reason to complain, and I wouldn't blame them! And that is why, as an aside, I think the government should concern itself more with the future of working U.S. citizens than with people here illegally.

Many of the people on this thread complaining about socialism would be furious if they terminated Medicare and SS. Lack of social support programs is pretty much 3rd world.
Modern day Euro and American Marxists are more sophisticated, especially post internet. For American Marxists, violent revolutions does not work, even with Black Lives Matter and Antifa. All they do is disrupt local businesses and cost the cities money. But as far as the rest of (armed) America is concerned, Black Lives Matter and Antifa are no threat. So American Marxists have taken the cultural and social routes. They now dominated the press, academia, and intelligentsia. Dominated, not taken over, so there is still a chance they could be exposed and challenged, and that is happening right now.
When I posted that communism/socialism won't take the USA with a bang but sneak in slowly through the cracks in the door, that is exactly what I meant. Thanks, Roderic, for explaining it better.
There have been court cases, there have been audits, there have been recounts and more recounts. ...
Both lies. No cases. ...
You should stop trolling and start initiating serious discussions on meaningful subjects. Otherwise people might start to think you are being paid for this.

It’s not hard to see why if you put your thinking cap on.
Because they’ve already been taxed for and promised it and everyone knows of how jacked up expensive health care is due to the extensive meddling of the various govt entities.

If we shrink the federal gov't by 1/2 over the next 10 years, 5%/yr., we won't have to worry about the USA becoming Socialist, Communist, a Dictatorship, or any other horrible stuff.
The bigger our central gov't gets, the closer we get to the horrific stuff.
Its that simple.
Here's the scary part...our central gov'ts been swallowing up the private sector since 1932:
