Neither DeSantis nor Florida is against gays. To say otherwise as some posters are saying is a lie.
Some of his ads have been so blatantly anti-LGBT that he had to have them removed from the net, and he is trying to mock Trump for being too LGBT friendly. That IS part of his platform and attempt to pander to his base.
People are moving into Florida, not out. So he’s obviously doing something right.
Nearly half a million Floridians moved out in 2021, although the net migration is still positive.
South Florida is officially the LEAST affordable housing market in the nation, and some people are simply priced out of the State.

Safe to say he won't be too focused on governing until he drops out of the race. Heck, they had to re-wrote the law for him to run, because the FL law stated he'd have to resign from governorship if he ran for president, but he had the law changed, so he can take his job back if / when he drops out of the race.

The Florida governor signed the “Stop WOKE Act” last year to do just that, restricting how issues of race are taught in public schools and workplaces.
I don't know of anybody here in Florida that is cheering the demise of Disney. As for electing DeSantis that had more to due with the fact that about 1 Million Democrats didn't bother to Vote last November because his Democratic opponent was Charlie Crist.
Actually, Disney is looking to sell some assets and word is it is just the beginning.

So, basically they'll be teaching that slavery was awesome and did the slaves a huge favor.

By electing DeSantis, Florida is getting what they deserve, honestly. They are cheering at the demise of Disney in central Florida. They actually want to destroy Disney World for political gain. Watch what happens to Florida tourism after that.

Their crime was to voice an opinion which disagreed with the governors political agenda, and as a result the government is talking all kinds of action to punish them. That's not how things are done in US. Its how things are done un Nigeria or Uganda, but not here.
And its not just Disney. He went after cruise lines, teachers, schools, school boards, lawyers, restaurants and other businesses.

Walt Disney was very apolitical

Disney today is obviously not following Walt's vision. No one can take down Disney the way Disney can take down itself.
I know you disagree, but in a free country anyone should be free to voice their opinion without fear of being punished by the government. The Constitution gives us that right.
Yes, Walt Disney was politically opinionated, but he was not punished for his opinions like Disney is now being punished by the government.
DeSantis is a textbook authoritarian politician, and his base applaud him for it.
