$79 each discount ticket.....family of 4....$320 + tax etc each way.....you still have to get to the station...and then get to your destination....which might involve renting a car
car ~ $75...gas ~ $50.....car rentals include Sunpass etc.....$125 + tax
To rent a car is obviously $75 per day, not the whole week, so that's $525 for a week + gas ($100) + SunPass ($50).
You don't need a car in Orlando to get around.
Like I said, - to each his own. If you prefer to sit in a car for 8 hours (more if there is traffic), you are free to do that. What do you have against having choices?

Yes, tourists, who are not necessarily comfortable driving long distance in a foreign country. Also, some people actually consider a train trip fun, because its roomy, you can have lunch and a few drinks, read a book or even sleep.
I'm not sure what having High Speed Rail has to do with "illegals" because America has never cared about AMTRAK or having High Speed Rail to begin with.
America is too addicted to automobiles at this point.

Yeah, I like the freedom of getting in my car and going where I want to go.
That is a freedom your side will not be taking away - I actually like riding Amtrak where it makes sense, but problem is it's only good for intermediate range trips and only in certain areas.
You can do whatever you want. IMO its nice to have options, but obviously you disagree.
.and you can drive it a whole lot faster and cheaper and more convenient

Check again. (or maybe stop lyin'?). There are flights that are exactly $45. LOL
I can fly LAX to SFO tomorrow (9/12) for $48. That's with no advanced booking. If I were to, I don't know....make plans, I can book a flight for $45 in the near future. Early October on JetBlue
Brightline uses existing rails so it didn’t cost as much
BrightlineWest (Vegas to Metro LA) will be using new rail, fully electrified as well.
