Ah yes, the feds tried to take him out. Did you fail to notice that the impeachment was brought by republicans. I didn’t expect this to go well with the downside of retribution by the right wing republicans. No way is Paxton clean.

That was the Prosecution Case “ we all know”
Unfortunately for the .Leftists — they had ZERO Evidence to back up “what we all know”. That May fly in a Houston Court, but it didn’t fly at the Texas Capitol.

IF you had actually watched the Impeachment Trial …. and IF you read anything other than the very Biased Texas Tribune, then you would know what happened.

The Prosecution messed up big time. First, they failed to adhere to the 24 hour notice for a witness, so the .prosecutors could not call her to testify until late in the day.

Then the Prosecutors were so rattled by having their case implode on them under sworn Testimony that they stood up and said — The Prosecution Rests and Buzbee said, No Objection, the Defense is ready.

The Prosecution tried for a Mulligsn, but it wasn’t allowed. The ruling was “The Prosecution has rested it’s Case.
It was in news reports, you must have missed it,

I know everything you just said.

Paxton's lover should have still been called as a witness. Some back deal caused that not to happen. You, and I, don't know what that back deal was.

Here is an interesting fact about the lieutenant governoer who presided the impeachment hearings: Dan Patrick was sworn in by Judge Ryan Patrick, his own son:

OK - yeah, whatever you say. Go ahead and believe that.

Texas Republicans may oust Ken Paxton, one of their own

As the fbi investigation simmered—he also faces unrelated securities-fraud charges from 2015—Mr Paxton made a name for himself by waging a legal war on Washington. Since 2021 he claims to have sued the Biden administration 50 times, mostly over immigration. In Texas, he has gone after big tech, cartels, election workers and vaccine-makers. This paid off in the polls: after he was endorsed by Donald Trump voters gave him a third term by a near ten-point margin in November 2022.

Right decision, the evidence just wasn't there. Not very nuts about the man himself, but I do like his policies. The few times I had to call his office I was pleased. We all knew about all of this when we voted for him, he has been much better than another Bush would have been. Sometimes you have to vote for people you don't personally like, he's not the only one I've had to do that with.

If you believe the political battle lines are the same as the days of Clinton, you are sadly mistaken.

A large majority of republicans voted to impeach him so it was pretty serious, when he asked the legislature for 3.3M for the whistleblowers he fired that was too much even for the republicans. Sure looks like they changed their minds along the way. 16 articles of impeachment and they couldn't even find one, sounds like their careers came first.

OK, what evidence is there that the impeachment was driven by the Feds? The Republican controlled Texas House of Representatives came up with the charges, and most of them would tell the Feds to pound sand.

You think? I could be wrong, but still think he comes out of this with more political power and likely feels unassailable. Maybe the criminal charges against him will slow his “momentum”.
