Vanity Fair? well, that's an honest rag. You also get your unbias news from Rolling Stone? It's funny those articles only came out when he was the GOP front runner in 2016. It's like they take their marching orders and just keep repeating the talking points. "Trump is Hitler. Trump is Hitler. Trump is Hitler." This is why the majority of Americans distrust the media for garbage like this.

I love Porsches and since Porsche made tanks for Hitler, that means I'm a Nazi. Name 1 Trump policy that is closely to Hitler? Name 1 and having the Hitler's book 30 years ago doesn't cut it but makes his attackers pathetic and an insult to WW 2 and the people that died.

Your fake concern for the poor almost brings a tear to my eye. Could we have crossed paths in D.C. during a Vietnam or Iraq war protest? I was locked up with thousands of others in RFK stadium after a Vietnam war protest.

All I know is what Ivana said in the interview, and again later to her attorney. Google it. The interview with VF, BTW, was from the 90s after their divorce, not during the campaign.

I was shocked, frankly. I really had no idea Donnie was capable of reading a book.

Such voters aren't a national majority by any means but combined with swing voters who are dissatisfied with the Biden administration for a variety of reasons, there is a very real path for Trump getting re-elected.

And if the official numbers ultimately aren't in his favor, it's difficult to see a scenario where he - and his supporters - will accept a loss. 2024 is going to be a challenging year regardless.
If that is the case, I will be voting 3rd party once again. I don't like Biden and I don't do the MAGA stuff either.
This is why I have to think about all of this. We have individuals here on city-data who make it a point to say things like "Blacks should vote Republican" or "The Republicans are better for you" as to assume knowing what is best for Black Americans better than Black Americans do. The way I see it, picking the most bombastic, crazy candidates will not have a positive effect. Trump, and MAGA over all, appeal to the angry. Mo Brooks, he was the representative for Alabama's 5th Congressional District. He was very much a MAGA Republican. He is one of those persons who say things like "there's a genocide against White people". And the there's Tommy Tuberville. He was at a rally in Nevada and referred to the rise In crime as "people seeking reparations". Considering the only time we hear about reparations, that's a dog whistle way of talking about Black people, in a negative way.

This is a major reason I can't deal with MAGA. It's as toxic as the woke Radical elements in the Democratic Party. It attracts the angry too.

Trump gave them permission to come out from under their flat rocks. They had been fairly covert since the 70s, but here we are again.

I can understand your perspective and how this influences whom you choose to vote for. I don't think politicians who deliver overtly condescending rhetoric about and towards Black Americans benefit from doing so in more "purple" (and obviously "blue") states and districts, once it is time for the general election as opposed to the primaries. It can alienate many people (Black and others) who may otherwise have conservative views and don't care for "woke" elements on the left either.

Ironically Brooks is now out of Congress and is no longer on favorable terms with Trump. He lost the primary for the other Alabama Senate seat which was won by Katie Britt. While it's a very low bar, she seems to be a more serious and reasonable senator than her counterpart Tuberville.

Bidenomics! It should get him out of the bed at the WH!

https://www.ers.usda.gov/data-produc...-and-spending/

"Average annual food-at-home prices were 11.4 percent higher in 2022 than in 2021. For context, the 20-year historical level of retail food price inflation is 2.0 percent per year. In 2022, prices for all food categories increased faster than their historical averages from 2002–21. Prices for 9 food categories increased by more than 10 percent in 2022. Egg prices rose most sharply, by 32.2 percent, primarily as a result of the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak. Prices for fats and oils increased by 18.5 percent, poultry increased by 14.6 percent, other meats increased by 14.2 percent, and cereals and bakery products increased by 13.0 percent. Beef and veal prices rose the slowest, at 5.3 percent, following large price increases in 2020 and 2021. The 2022 price increase for beef and veal was closest to its historical average of 4.4 percent."

https://www.republicanleader.senate....down-americans

"Energy prices have increased 38%. (Bureau of Labor Statistics, Accessed 5/10/2023)"

“Real average hourly earnings decreased 0.5 percent, seasonally adjusted, from April 2022 to April 2023. The change in real average hourly earnings combined with a decrease of 0.6 percent in the average workweek resulted in a 1.1-percent decrease in real average weekly earnings over this period.” (Bureau of Labor Statistics, Press Release, Accessed 5/10/2023)"

Oops, forgot about the Biden's border crisis!

https://apnews.com/article/biden-imm...cb182c74ad47ca

"A Marquette Law School poll of registered voters conducted in late September gave Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 GOP nomination, a 24-point advantage over Biden on handling immigration and border security issues — 52% to 28%."

So, because the "agenda" needs Biden to be the candidate, Trump will win in 2024. The current persecution he is seeing simply makes him stronger!

Now you go from dishonest to a bad comedian. They should give you a late night show right after Seth Meyers. TDS did a work on you. This is 24/7 here.

and No, you are being dishonest again. The article was from 12/2015 (Trump was already the front runner in the party) from the Independent, a rag political aligned to the far left liberalism and socialism and it was clearly a political hit job.

The Vanity Fair article is from 9/1990 before Trump got into politics. It's typical Vanity Fair garbage. From the article: “Did your cousin John give you the Hitler speeches?” I asked Trump.
Trump hesitated. “Who told you that?”
“I don’t remember,” I said.
“Actually, it was my friend Marty Davis from Paramount who gave me a copy of Mein Kampf, and he’s a Jew.” (“I did give him a book about Hitler,” Marty Davis said. “But it was My New Order, Hitler’s speeches, not Mein Kampf. I thought he would find it interesting. I am his friend, but I’m not Jewish.”)

I don't know what that has to do with Trump's policies. You can't name 1 policy or power grab that even comes close to anything Hitler did but here you are repeating the lies.

I was born in 1971. So, I doubt We crossed paths during Vietnam. It sounds like you just wanted to evade the draft but are ok continuing those policies as long that you are not the one doing the bleeding and dying for. For a person that protested the Vietnam war, I find amusing that the U.S. still does the same policies and you support that. That's what I said about selective outrage.

Nothing fake about my #1 concern of the debacle of endless wars since Vietnam this country is in. Why should We keep voting for the same folks that got us into this mess?
