Newsom gets what he wanted after all. Wonder who sat Ms. Butler down or if decision was truly totally her own. In any event field is now wide open...

The late Senator Feinstein's temporary replacement until the next election. Both Butner and Newsom know she can't win an election. Just more Newsom virtue signaling. He's such a POS.

Newsom can say he paid his debt to black community with within CA and nationally by ticking that box just the once. There will be photo ops of "black female senator from CA" complete with braids and looking far more of that race than previous holder of that title Ms. Harris. So that will be that.

Newsom is an oily git who reminds one of Uriah Heep. A slimly sycophant who gives appearance of offering assistance, but in reality is going to do it to you for his own personal gain.

Exactly. Jordan Peterson talks about the Dark tetrad in his latest article about Hamas. Newsom exhibits ALL of those traits.

Narcissism
Machiavellianism
Psychopathy
Sadism

ETA I hope the blacks hold Newsom's feet to the fire regarding reparations. He created a commission to study it and I hope they get to watch Newsom go back on his word so everyone can see what a pandering POS he really is.

How could she possibly win? She lives in Baltimore or some place on the east coast.

She moved to California in 2009 and left for Maryland in 2021. She unregistered to vote in Maryland and is now back in California with new California voter registration and the required residency requirements.

So did Hillary Clinton
Once in they tend to stay in unless term limited out. And with no attack issue come primary time the state's Democrats who had their eyes on that lifetime seat might have been a bit upset at Governor Newsom.
