Meh. I dont. I *DO* wish prison was safer. Weve got a sentence for the guy, and it shouldn't include being stabbed. Cops in prison should be kept with the pedophiles for their own safety.

No doubt we will find out more about the circumstances. I simply don't understand though why he was where he could be approached and stabbed. He would seem to be an obvious target.
For violent offenders prison sentences are still light (In my opinion), nevertheless, prisoners getting raped and stabbed isn't acceptable. I think Chauvin was guilty of his crime, but getting stabbed isn't his sentence. He needs to be able to serve his 15-20 years. Just by doing that his life is already ruined. Each year in prison takes 2 years off of life expectancy.

I'm a bit hypocritical on this. Ive been in jail, so I DO approve of most of it personally. Mostly he will be shunned just like other folks. PS-there are some crimes that get you shunned or worse. So dont hurt animals is one folks often don't realize. Being a cop who killed someone is right up there.
But...I don't want it to be like that because I recognize that's not how a good and just society should work. But personally? Yeah I get it. But im working on being better.

Interesting take! I think we all know what it feels like when the darker part of us cries out for some kind of physical vengeance. But releasing it gets us nowhere, except deeper in blood. There's a reason why we invented the idea that government should take this on for us.
Conspiracy theory is Chauvin set this up himself to try and being further attention to the case or to get himself transferred. Would like to hear exactly the pattern or extent of the injuries as doctored stabbings are usually pretty identifiable by investigators
ETA: I didn't know until I read that link that Larry Nasser was stabbed in a Federal prison 5 months ago (Nasser is the former sports doctor who assaulted so many female gymnasts).
