United States military leadership at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota recently sent service members a text message warning them that their “continued service” could be in jeopardy if they attended a local rally featuring a speaker from an organization that has historically been supportive of former President Donald Trump.
As I understand it, Turning Point Action is similar in scope to the Proud Boys.
The air force is justified in warning their members not to become involved. There are a lot of activities military personnel are asked not to participate in, to keep the reputation of our military sound.

then you understand nothing. tpusa is a very run of the mill conservative group. so of course you and fellow leftists want to smear them.
they did more than warn members not to 'become involved' - they stated they would jeopardize their careers if they did.
Yep, and yet they are begging former members of the military who had to leave because of the COVID vaccine requirement to return. Who would want to be part of Joe Biden’s military?!
“Minot Air Force Base is aware that an unofficial message about a local event in the City of Minot was sent in a text message group. The message was based on incorrect data and sent outside of official base messaging platforms. Once the error was identified, base security officials corrected the message traffic to categorize the event as a local political fundraiser, with no security concerns. Further, the updated message communicated there were no issues with military members participating in their personal capacity – in line with their First Amendment rights. All Air Force Airmen have a Constitutional right to freedom of assembly. That said there are some limitations placed on an Airman’s ability to participate in political events in an official capacity. These limitations are set by ethical guidelines in the Code of Federal Regulations in order to maintain the politically neutral stance of the US Military.”
So, I guess the takeaway here, is attend if you wish, don't wear your uniform.

ROFLMAO....they "corrected" the message ? Nah...they got outed to the public and changed their story.
Sounds to me like they didnt send it out. "sent outside of official base messaging platforms"
When I was in the military there were plenty of non official platforms, such as facebook groups that people used to communicate. They werent ran by the military though and plenty of times they had incorrect info that people though was official. It happens.

Which has been the standard for politically related gatherings since before I put the uniform on in 1998.
