I don't see how'd they win, but NAGA, a Native American group is suing to have the NFL Commanders change their name back to the Redskins saying it honors the Native American it was named after.
The WaPo had a poll of Native Americans and 9 in 10 were not offended by a football team having the name Redskins, which shocked the white liberals of the WaPo who had been pushing for a name change due to it being offensive to Native Americans. I wonder if you could get 10% to find the Saints, Patriots, Buccaneers, Raiders, or Vikings offensive.
The football team had been one of the top NFL brands, but after the name change its branding fell dramatically.

The team was founded by a tribe of Native Americans. The tribe was getting royalties for use of the name and imagery until the name was axed.

Where did you come up with this one? Wrong.
The franchise was founded by George Preston Marshall as the Boston Braves in 1932. The team changed its name to the Redskins the following year before moving to Washington, D.C., in 1937, to become the Washington Redskins.
A silly lawsuit as the Redskins are a private organization (and, hell, even if they weren't, this suit would still be dead on arrival as the government is generally free to name government-owned entities whatever it wants to), but it is still refreshing to see some pushback against the insanity that led to the name change to begin with.
As I've long mentioned, I would have been out on the front lines condemning the name if it was actually disparaging. But it was hardly that.

Sorry, but the Boston Braves were a baseball team from Boston until the early 1950s. Boston use to have two teams then one moved to Milwaukee. The team was founded back in 1871.
