Politically he's in a difficult spot right now, and the elections are just around the corner. Some amount of compromise will likely be necessary to get his way on other issues. This is an easy issue for him to flip.

Johnson supporting Ukraine aid isn't new. He stated more than a month ago that he supports Ukraine aide, but wants any vote on Ukraine aid to be separate from an aid package for Israel: https://www.politico.com/live-update...nding-00124806

That said, I was and remain against any aid for Ukraine. This isn't our problem and it's not a war that Ukraine can win.
