You are right, it shouldn't have taken this long. The question is why did it?
She lasted just 2 days over 6 months. I would not be surprised if there was some financial incentive for her to wait until she passed the 6-month mark. The timing is just too questionable.
Why are so many people invested in this news though? Not defending her, but in the grand scheme of things, plagiarism at a college I don't have any vested interest in, seems rather minor.
Plagiarism in the academic world is probably the worst thing a person can do, other than homicide.

I wonder if her supporters will insist that her replacement is an African American woman also. To some this would make perfect sense, and to others, none at all.
Remember when California insisted the replacement senator be from a certain group? I don't know why that was so necessary but that's how people are.
None of the three university presidents who testified that day handled themselves in a manner that one would expect. They seemed to be unsure of themselves, which is not the way a major college president should come across. Perhaps it was because they were tutored by lawyers to be careful in what they said, or maybe they really are just not very good.
