Basically the federal government has failed to defend the country and the states.
Abbott has sent multiple official notices to the BidenAdmin, and they have done nothing. So they are invoking their constitutional ability to defend themselves.
He should forward that letter to Speaker Johnson and ask him to pass a bill that’s reconcilable with the bipartisan Senate bill that Biden said he would sign.
He’s running for DHS Secretary under Trump, a prospect which would make Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick ecstatic.
I know a few ex-military guys and they have said they would never fire on American citizens under any circumstances. I hope the Biden Administration doesn't put that to the test.
After the vote Tuesday, Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough said he wanted to say something “in response to the Supreme Court ruling yesterday to allow Border Patrol agents to remove Texas barriers. I believe it is time for Texas to show some civil disobedience.”
That is the 51st TX country to declare an invasion. I think they have solid ground on this. The drugs, human trafficking, etc. The above article is really very good, and goes into the history of declaring an invasion based on a decision in AZ.
"Brnovich was the first and only state attorney general in U.S. history to issue a legal opinion defining an invasion. He argued the Biden administration failed to protect Arizona from an invasion under the Guarantee Clause and that the governor, as commander-in-chief, has the independent authority under the state self-defense clause of the Arizona constitution to defend Arizona from an invasion."
