One poster suggested that a bunch of 300lb Americans with guns would deter Hamas terrorists when the IDF (an actual military force) was not enough, nor 100s of local well armed local security forces were not able to.
So if you think that pocket pistol would deter Hamas, you're basically living in a Hollywood movie.

Hamas overwhelmed Israeli military posts and killed around 300-400 members of the iDF during the Oct 7. So well trained soldiers with military grade weapons. Do you think a bunch of obese Americans with AR-15s, who'd probably have a heart attack doing anything strenuous, would fare better?
Hamas got the drop on scattered IDF forces and then drew many into the open by raping, throat slashing and burning people including kids, little kids, babies.
If the Russians came over the hill and tried to occupy say Dallas. Houston, Oklahoma City etc. the push back from locals would be astonishing to people who think as you do about all this.

Why would Hamas members go to the USA when if they are discovered, would be extradited promptly to Israel? Much safer to just go to Turkey.

There is a lot of cooperation between US and Israeli intelligence agencies. I'd imagine that all Palestinians caught and then seeking asylum will be heavily scrutinized. Stranger things have happened, but I doubt the USA is top on the list for Hamas members to go and start a new life.
