This is just another GOP messaging bill being used to incite anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim hatred that makes communities like ours unsafe.
"The No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act, introduced by Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.), would deem any members of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Palestine Liberation Organization or other individuals who participated in or facilitated the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack on the Jewish state ineligible to enter the US, even if seeking asylum."
Bolded is the relevant inclusion. Why include the PLO? If there is any alternate to Hamas, it's them. This bill basically bans anyone involved with any Palestinian organization.

WTF is wrong with the voters who would vote for these people?
Mist Congressional districts are gerrymandered today, and at least in Michigan there is a heavy Muslim population voting. So that limits challengers. Supposedly in Talib's district, someone was offered 20 milllion to run against her.
Hamas Supreme Leader Khaled Mashaal has agreed to join the executive board that oversees election as part of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
Isn't the PLO still a designated terrorist org?

The bill also expands an existing admissions bar against officers, representatives, and spokespersons of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO).

PLO is signatory to Oslo Accords 1/2. Has recognized Israel's right to exist, but rescinded that in 2018 unless Israel does the same. That it was placed on the US terrorist list is just political considerations since all groups (including Israel and US gov) do use terrorist tactics.
But excluding the PLO, who is left on the Palestinian side?
I don't see why they bothered with it. Has anyone looked at the lines of people coming in the USA? I can tell you most do NOT look like they are coming from Central or South America. AZ said they had illegals coming in from 160 different countries.
We are stopping NO ONE from coming into the country, and if one has other than good intentions for their reason for coming in, through an open border undetected would be the best choice.

It's mostly just a bill to virtue signal. No Hamas members will go to the USA for obvious reasons.
