Biden has been in politics so long that he thinks he's totally entitled to do anything he wants to do (just read the Hur transcripts as one way to verify that).
The appellate ruling today must have crushed Biden, even though $175 million is hardly pocket change. It's just a lot better than $500M.

People keep focusing on the money, but the appellate court did much more than reduce the bond. They also stayed enforcement on most of the judgement, including the restrictions on doing business in New York.

Very true, and I think a lot of that is because I think most people realize he's likely to win on appeal. Even Letitia James and that slimy judge Engoron knew that.....which is why they tried to make the process the punishment.
If they forced Trump to immediately come up with nearly half a billion dollars and keep it locked up for a lengthy appeals process, it would be a win for them.....if he couldn't come up with it they'd be even happier.
That was their entire goal.
Fortunately for the rule of law, the appellate court intervened.
Well, Biden can't run on his merit or intelligence or his record, so... jailing or financially ruining Trump are really his only options.
