I think the last time America was truly great was the period immediately after 9/11. It seemed to bring out the best in Americans and it was the last time we were united as one, and set aside our petty differences. Just under two years after that when the Iraq War started and shifted the focus from Afghanistan/Bin Laden was when we started to become divided, and then it was pretty much downhill from there.
