Odd question, why protest at that location and not at oh...a synagogue?

The only thing I can think of is that they can do this and not have to worry about getting hit with hate crime charges?

Perhaps the protestors see Israel as a vassal state to the US. And the largest single religious organization, although outnumbered by the combined Protestants, is the Roman Catholic Church. And a higher profile parish in the media's headquarters get notice.

Passover did not run concurrently with the western Christian churches Holy Week/Resurrection remembrances this year and on any working weekday they would block traffic for everybody.
