I must be one of the few white Jews that feels he was not guilty. What was in the courtroom were vials or test tubes with blood, not the Bronco and not the Simpson home. The vials could have said that the contents came from Timbuktu. Also, OJ would be a remarkably poor planner to count on getting to the airport in 40 minutes for his flight to Chicago. I've driven that route. Trust me, California freeways are not reliable in terms of time.
I think I am the only black person who did not watch any of trial or the circus surrounding it.
Simpsons fall from grace was interesting in terms of evolving race relations.
The opinion of guilt was sharply divided along racial lines largely reinforced by distrust of the police, historical racial railroading and of course just not wanting a black community icon torn down causing cognitive dissonance.
None of those are particularily unfounded fears and the not wanting to believe it was true aspect crosses all racial lines like when there have been scandals like at Penn State football or certain actors or politicians etc.
That being said, after the trial and passions died down....and probably his "If I did it" book as well...it was pretty clear to everybody he had done it. Dave Chapelle nailed that pretty well.
How do you die of prostate cancer on 2024? I thought this was treatable.
Like most cancers (I'd say all, but someone will find and argue the cases where it's different) it has to be caught *early*. Just because it can be caught doesn't mean it's always being caught. It requires men to actually go to the doctor on a regular basis and get checked.
