...but aren't allowed to carry the president because they could scorch the
White House lawn

Because Lockheed Martin Corp. still can’t figure out this problem, the new Sikorsky is only carrying White House officials or Secret Service personnel instead of the president himself and is restricted to landing on paved surfaces.

Money well spent...

Wait a minute, how would the President's electric helicopters scorch the lawn? Surely he wouldn't ride one that burns fossil fuels!!

Hey, they only cost $5 billion. That's a drop in the bucket compared to the vast sums that the US Congress has appropriated for stuff like infrastructure and aid for Israel and Ukraine. Give those helicopters to the border patrol to help them to track down illegal aliens- oops, I meant undocumented immigrants.

OK, a little research on my part (but should not have to, if the OP would provide link that anyone had to pay to see).

This started in 2018.

The rotors and engine exhaust from the Sikorsky-manufactured VH-92 Patriot will occasionally burn the grass when it lands, an issue that was initially identified in 2018, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.

Why is it an issue today?

Seems like a simple solution would be to make a paved landing pad near the White House for them.

Also, why do they need a fleet of 20?

Good, I kept getting a pay wall.

But, in my prior posts, have I said anything wrong?
