The gag order is *very* narrow.
Exactly, that is by design. Merchan had intentionally made it "very narrow", just so that Trump's hands would be tied when others, like Cohen and Stormy, are allowed to freely "attack, disparage, or threaten or allude to threatening" Trump. Trump is not allowed to defend himself from their lies.

But anyway, Cohen is currently going no holds barred in proving time after time that he is quite the liar...this will definitely work against the prosecution. No doubt the left is frantic while they're watching their "star witness" becoming a "star dud" and their joke of a case slipping away from them.

He can't attack, disparage, or threaten or allude to threatening trial witnesses, court staff, family of anyone in the case, people like that. That is a good policy and standard for someone with a "mob boss" mentality. It has nothing to do with the election. In fact, I believe this kind of gag order would be in place for him if he never ran for office. He's a thug, a bully, and likes to dog whistle his supporters, hoping to get them to take care of his grievances (in a violent manner). IMO.

Basically, they are just tormenting Trump and keeping him from campaigning while knowing they have nothing, and will with some luck on the side of what our country stands for wish they never started this!

One of the issues is that everyone else can say whatever they want, and only Trump has the gag order.

Yep, put him in jail, he can use the infusion of donations that will pour in as the left reveals more and more what they have in mind for how our country will be run by the elite.

Making or directing others to make public statements about known or

Please describe the statements that Stormy or Cohen are making that meet any of these criteria. It's not illegal to have an opinion on the case. Though, for the record, I think what both Stormy and Cohen are doing isn't particularly smart - they should both just shut up and wait for things to play out.
In other words, the only gag orders are those that apply to criticisms of the prosecution and their witnesses. Criticizing Trump or his defense team is perfectly fine.

The DA sought the maximum $1,000 fine for each post they considered a violation, along with an order that Trump remove the posts. Prosecutors had also asked Merchan to warn Trump that any future violations could be met with additional fines and up to 30 days in jail.

Seems this judge isn't playing around. I'm sure Trump will dare the judge to lock him up and expect SS to protect him.
Secret Service is REQUIRED to protect him. Period, to quote the brilliant Barry Soetoro.

Gag order for thee but not for me (or his side). I'd love to see SOMEONE step in and rattle these cages. If we had a real AG, I believe things would be flowing a bit differently.

This is nothing more than a Soviet style kangaroo court with a guaranteed outcome.

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

I guarantee if anyone not wealthy violated specific orders by a judge NINE times, they would not only be fined, they'd likely already have their arse sitting in jail. He's a toddler acting out, looking to push boundaries.

This case has nothing to do with "a presidential race." The case was investigated in 2017/2018 (no election), Cohen went to prison for 3 years, and "individual 1" was under investigation for his part in all of it. No president has ever been charged for a criminal offense *during his term,* and that didn't happen in this case either. The case was well underway before the ex-P announced he was running again.
"Trump is acting out because he gets attention"

Isn't that what ALL people running for office do?

" He's a toddler acting out"

Can be said of all the anti Trumpers and some dem posters on here. Wink!

Even many NY City union members are supporting Trump.

"A lesser man staring down a criminal conviction, even on utterly bogus charges, might break under the stress of the event, or succumb to doubt and despair. But Donald Trump, as the saying goes, is made of sterner stuff. This stuff was readily on display Thursday morning in Midtown when he was greeted to a hero’s welcome before a litany of construction workers, representing the Steamfitters Union 638. Close to a thousand union workers, many of them still registered Democrats, arrived at the crack of dawn – before the President’s scheduled court proceeding – to serenade the President with a traditional New York homecoming."

And where is all the stuff they have said about him?

Why is it OK for THEM and NOT Trump?
