The voters can serve as a filter as to if a person is too "whatever" for the job at hand.

I think after the election is over, some people will more freely admit to age being an issue with some candidates but for now are in full denial.

I mean dear lord, Feinstein was just gone, it was awful to see.

It is not the age, it is the mental ability to remain sharp. Just look at the start differences between Sanders and Biden, or for that matter, Trump and Biden.

We decided on term limits for presidents, and I see no reason why we shouldn't have them for members of Congress, regardless of how old they are.
However, the only chance of accomplishing it, would be to get our current representatives to agree to do it, provided they were grandfathered in.
Then it would have a chance with a nationwide push and someone like Trump leading the charge.

Term limits would require a constitutional amendment. Who is gonna go along with that? No one!

voters are the problem. They vote for the most recognizable candidate and it doesn’t matter if you were a Republican or a Democrat. The majority will vote for their party regardless of who is running. Voters have elected people who have been deceased. So, there’s no hope and it’s everyones fault.

So instead of an age limit, there needs to be a mental acuity test for people 70 and up.

We already know based on Hur’s report that Biden would fail. Everyone can see that with their own eyes, they didn’t really even need Hur to state it.

I knew a guy who was 96, who flew B-17s in WWII. That dude’s mind was incredibly sharp, and he was physically fit, too.

So age shouldn’t be the determining factor.

Term limits are a whole other thing and I’d support those. For example, Pelosi and McConnell shouldn’t be in Congress for 40 years. Thats ridiculous.
I don't see Sanders dozing in court rooms and getting mixed up like Trump is now.

Nobody else sees that either, because it's DNC propaganda.

Except Congressional health insurance isn't cushy. Members of Congress are eligible for health insurance through DC Health Link under the Affordable Care Act just like every federal employee in DC. The federal government does subsidize the costs just like most employers do.

Sanders and guys like O'Connell qualify for Medicare and I presume add more insurance like most retirees over age 65.

He’s too old. We really need a constitutional amendment for an upper age limit of who can serve in such a role.

Bernie Sanders is a great man. He transcends politics every time. I profoundly wish that if there is a fountain of middle age, that he is the one who finds it.

You say that as if it is a bad thing. Calamity Joe is deceased and look how great things are! I just don't understand the corpsophobia that is so prevalent within the right wing nationalist theocratic MAGA crazies. They don't want the dead voting. They don't want a dead president. Sheesh. Come on. The last three years have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that a staggering, incoherent dead man can certainly get the job doneâ„¢.
