Reagan ---will go down as one of best ever
helped end communism, started a period of unprecendented growth, reduced taxes and stopped alot of wasteful spending

Bill Clinton---will go down as one of best ever
was at the right place at the right time, but was responsible enough to balance budget. Also reduced taxes.

George Bush (current)----one of worst ever
mismanaged federal government by increasing spending, most fiscally irresponsible republican president in history, brought us in to a war by lying which resulted in a larger national debt which led to a devaluation of the dollar, this silver spoon doesn't even seem to know what a budget is (strangely enough he campaigned on a fiscal conservative platform!)

Obama---will be one of worst ever
Talks of raising taxes and handling out entitlements and spending/wasting alot

Bush Sr. was a pretty decent prez out of this bunch. There was the end of the boom market of the 80's marking the recessionary epoch of the standard business cycle. Clinton benefited from this as well as the boom part of the inflated Nasdaq bubble. Considering the country is going into a severe recession before November, Obama will certainly win in a landslide, but will be scapegoated for the problems lying ahead. Not that he'll really help by funding massive gubmint programs. Hopefully a true conservative will come out of the carnage which is immediately ahead of us.

I don't think Republicans deserve to win in 2008, and I vote Republican most of the time. After 4 years of Obama, maybe a real Reagan conservative will step up to the plate. George Bush campaigned as that, but his administration was just the opposite.

Different times, different problems, different solutions.

I do not see how you can make a prediction about Obama when he isn't even president yet. Jumping the gun a bit I think.

125% in agreement.

Now is NOT the time to elect a RINO. Wait, be patient, for the conservative prize.

Electing Obama will ensure a Carter part II of stagnation and maybe, JUST maybe, a 3rd party uber-conservative will step up.

Agree.

Don't agree. It was the Republican-written balanced budget amendment in which Clinton at first would not sign. Clinton also raised taxes.

Don't agree. He did not "lie" about the war; he was saying the same thing many Democrats were saying (WMD in Iraq, Saddam should be removed, etc). I do agree about the overspending.

How do you know he will be president? He still has to win the election in November!

Ya think? The $10T debt and it doubling in just 8 short years from programs like his Lenin-inspired Medicare prescription drug plan and other assorted gimmicks. Bush is the biggest fiscal lib to come out of the oval office since FDR.

Quite right. LBJ gets the prize. GWB 2nd, Reagan or FDR in 3rd place.

You'd have to go back to Coolidge to find a real Republican.
