A Los Angeles woman claims she was injured by her Victoria's Secret thong, prompting her to sue the underwear manufacturer. The plaintiff in the case, Macrida Patterson, 52, attributed the May 2007 injury to a Victoria's Secret "low-rise v-string," according to a court document posted on The Smoking Gun. Patterson's lawyer told The Smoking Gun that a "design problem" caused a decorative metallic piece on the underwear to fly up and hit Patterson in the eye while she was putting the underwear on. Patterson's product liability lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week. The Smoking Gun reported that, prior to the lawsuit, officials from Victoria's Secret had asked to see the offending underwear but were refused by Patterson's lawyer.
Now I can go to my grave in peace knowing that American women are protected against "defective" underwear!!! I can see the warning label on bras and panties: "Warning, the use of these products may be dangerous to your mental stability, use with caution!" Why can't the other 49 states convince California to become a sovereign country so it can sue itself into oblivion! ARGHHH!!!
you know, maybe it's not even stupid, greedy people out to make a bundle of cash. maybe it's jsut stupid, attention-starved people out for their 15 minutes, whether they win anything or not. maybe there is a bet going around to see who can get the most ridiculous law suit going.
If a defective product caused the woman injury she does have some dough coming. If it wasn't for such lawsuits we'd still be driving exploding Pintos, getting our limbs ripped off at work and eating rotten hamburger with Lithuanian immigrants mixed in it.
Can you imagine having to show the thong as evidence?? Embarrassing!
Hopefully she will keep her eye on the prize...sorry, couldn't resist.
