It has very little to do with religion. Are you saying Europians are not religious? That is just not a very intelligent thought or reason for Americans and yes, other countries to cover their bodies when in public. There are nore countries that believe in a little modesty than believe in total exposure. For those who think our bodies do not need to be covered, join a nudist colony.

I would re-phrase this as, "On a list of the million most interesting conversation topics, sex should be at the very top of the list."

BTW, this has nothing to do with sexual arousal, nor for that matter what I was doing with my butthole late last night, as someone already pointed out. BTW, I don't drink booze.

Most extremely racist countries tend to be very sexually repressed.

Oh you simply can't be serious.

With all the porno we have, and live sex-acts we see on the streets like the Folsom Street Fair, Girls gone Wild, sex-clubs and the lax multi-partner "hookups" that are out there in the millions, we are somehow sexually repressed?

Um, not at all.....in fact WAY to far in the other direction.

WRONG!

Yes, things started changing finally in the '80's and the trend has continued, thankfully, to where the American culture is not so sexually repressive as it used to be. Those examples you give are a fringe element, however, probably less than 5% of the US population. Why do you think there is such a market for watching that stuff here in the US and especially in Utah and the "Bible Belt"??

Certainly we remain of the most sexually repressed societies in the history of human civilization.

You can't have a society structured on perceived racial superiority if people are free to have sex across racial boundaries. Repressing sexual behavior allows racist to control people's sexual behavior. For a long time having sex with a person of another race was the biggest social taboo in America. The fact that it took a Supreme Court decision (Loving v. State of Virginia) to declare all laws against interracial marriage illegal shows how much this was a part of the American psyche.

Another reason people may resent President Barack Obama is he represents the thing they are the most afraid of, the ability of non-White person to substantial gain political power.

America is absolutly a sexually repressed country, we are taught that it is dirty and sinful. Especially those of us that are christian for some reason the church has been very against sex for fun. In roman times sex was very in the open a part of thier every day life untill the fall of rome and the take over of the church when they too saw some forms of repression as far as their sexuality. I fully believe that if americans could come to terms with sex as part of our everyday lives and not lable it as indecent we would be much calmer and less violent. My huysband is a european and they have always been extremly open sexually, he was horrified when i explained to him that even as children touching yourself is considered bad. We are so represses I garuntee that the majority of woman in this country have even taken the time to examine their vaginas, not just a quick glance, most woman have trouble even saying the word in public. Hiding our sexuality has made us feel shameful and it does cause anxity and stress in and out of relationships. LET IT GO.. god gave us there parts check them out use them and dont feel bad about it!

Who knows--you can't really blame religion, as there are other very religious countries that are less repressed.

Look at how conservative female broadcasters in this country dress compared to their counterparts in Europe, Mexico & elsewhere.
