I would think positively to see southern Americans, BLACK as well as WHITE honoring their culture and heritage by flying the Confederate flag but to see a Mexican or Puerto Rican flying their flag would be an embarrasment to the South and the thousands of BLACKS, WHITES...but I made a terrible mistake here, there was actually a Mexican Colonel in the Confederate army!
The truth is, many Blacks, as well as native Americans seved honorably in the Confederate army but history is being re-written by those who seek nothing in life but the weakness of their own character and the distortion of true American history!!!

I don't necessarily associate it so much with racism as I do a symbolic thing. There were many Blacks who fought in the Southern Army that were treated with utmost respect by their generals.
Well, I understand the lapse in time but I haven't been on here since I was banned by the censors, but I can understand their grievance!
On the other hand, the Rolling Stones were banned on The Ed Sullivan show in 1967 for Lets spend the night together, the song had to be changed to, Lets Spend some TIME TOGETHER!!!
Maybe, just maybe times aren't so different now then they were in 1967????
I love all people, WHITE, BLACK, NATIVE AMERICAN, and anyone who is an AMERICAN CITIZEN!!!
Censorship is a tool of COMMUNISM and we all know that the right to speak, write, and openly demonstrate your opposission to government control is a GOD GIVEN RIGHT, especially here in AMERICA!
When my right as an AMERICAN citizen is in jeapordy, then we as all AMERICANS, have given up our freedom to speak and write freely!
I love my southern relatives and that includes the display and flying of the CONFEDERATE FLAG, and I as an American citizen give due and honarable respect to all AMERICANS who fought and served honorably in the ARMED FORCES defending my, as well as every American citizens right to live and breathe this free air that I breathe!!!
...and I give credit to Black Americans who gave their lives for my freedom, whether CONFEDERATE OR U.S. !!!
You know what bothers me the most is the NAACP, cannot we equate them as equals to the KuKlux Klan. I mean these people speak the same language, THE KLAN, WHITE ONLY and the NAACP uses that old southern race hate word COLORED?
It's all about a symbol for our love of our part of the country. Sadly, there are those that use it as a symbol of hate. However, that is not the case with me.
I agree with you on this. My DH, a history major from the south, did not see it as a symbol of hate, but he knew that many saw it as such and would not wear or have anything on his car with that flag. (He did, however, want "Dixie" to be the first song played at our wedding reception. Since it was the only thing that he wanted, didn't care about suit colors, food, etc., that's what was played.... Ever try to dance to Dixie?! .)
