My father is actually a New Orleans police officer to this day; you would be shocked at the horrific scenes that he has witnessed.
Anyone who thinks N.O. was subdued by martial law is a Snopes reading Republican and/or a flat out liar. All of those reports of violence and rapes have been debunked so many times that not even a self-respecting Klansman would bother to repeat them.

Which never occurs in the suburbs. Wait...where did Jeffrey Dahmer live? How about the Green River Killer? Weren't the Menendez brothers upper class?

I do want to be clear that I do not think the military or police force have the right to "shoot up" people because of race or economic status. That being said, anyone who is committing a crime (regardless of race or poverty level) should be arrested. A larger police (or military) presence on the streets of inner cities may help prevent thousands of innocent black, white, Hispanic, etc. people from getting unnecessarily harmed.
So earnest in your naivete. Maybe it's because your dad is a cop & you believe everything he tells you.

This crime was obviously personal. Having been a stalking victim I hardly see how sending in any kind of military/paramilitary force is a relevant solution.
