This bailout has now taken the form of "you must buy NOW or the deal isn't here anymore". How many times have we heard that from desperate salesman. This fiasco of a bailout is to save the Butts of the Directors,CEO's and investors in these corrupt financial houses. Let them Fall. Let the other Banks buy them at Bargain basement prices. Let the CEO's get canned. No more harm would occur than if the bailout had gone ahead. Wall street will stabalise and it will not allow big companies to think that they can screw the American People and then get rewarded for it.

I'm sitting here watching the vote and being awed by the fact that you really CAN'T fool all of the people all of the time. I wonder what they have in mind now to try to get our money?

I am sure they will come up with something.
Some of them really are worse than used car salesmen.

LML , it is frightening how the people with the most to lose from these companies failing are in charge of this bailout plan. The people going against the bill are realising that most of America does NOT want this bailout and they will be voted out of a job if they don't listen to their constituents. If the companies fall it will NOT be the end of the world. America boasts that it is a capatalistic country. Now prove it. No socialistic bailout. Competition means failing as well as succeeding. Why save a badly run failed company????????????? They should take time on this and not rush it.

Congress shows some backbone finally. I'm so glad they decided to listen to their constituents. I would like to see how each congressmen voted, where does one find that info. If my rep voted for it, I'll vote against him in Nov.

The bill is dead. Roshanana begins at sundown. That will probably be it for the week unless they call an emergency session. Further, many members are set to return home until after the election cycle. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. For now the people win this round.

Good, now let us vote for a presidential candidate who was not for the bailout. (Hint: neither Obama or McCain!!)
