I'm tired of being tolerant just to make others feel good (Israel, racist)

Tolerance. What comes to mind when you read that word? Why is our society so bent on tolerance? What road is this issue taking us down as a nation and a people? Is tolerance driving a wedge between us, or bringing us closer together?

Reason: context
Both Europe and America are pushing for flooding, non-White immigration. In the process it is causing social problems with "native cultures," large increases in crime & gangs, as well as disproportional social service spending.
Whites are constantly told "you're racist," but it does not stop millions of non-Whites from coming to the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, etc. Does any other people/continent have such a flawed policy forced on them such as the multiracialism in White nations? Japan certainly would not stand for it, they want to keep their culture and people.
Intolerance comes from the crime, the poverty, the social ills, that come from third world non-White immigration to White nations. Whites are told they are racist, but you certainly do not see Saudi Arabia, Israel, China, etc importing millions of foriegners.
Intolerance is spread from the nonsense of "multiracialism" that is PUSHED onto Western White nations. If the people weren't forced to deal with massive Third World immigration, disproportional amounts of crime, it would not happen. Europe and White nations have nothing to gain, but _EVERYTHING_ to lose from the policies they are pushing on their people. I haven't seen one person state a benefit of it everyone dances around the issue.

I'm tolerant of people as human beings, but not their distructive and wicked ways.
Being tolerant is an admirable quality and is accompanied by understanding, patience, and kindness among other qualities. It isn't something that you "do to make others feel good", but real tolerance is a feeling that you which allows you to accept differences in others. If you're tired of it it's probably because you never had it to begin with...maybe you were resentfully acting tolerant?
Certainly tolerance has its limits (though it kills me that the very first response to Hoosier's original post is an anti-immigration diatribe.)
I agree that tolerance isn't something you do "to make others feel good."
To me, tolerance is something you feel that allows others feel normal, to maintain a copacetic situation. Real tolerance is fairly subtle; there is little or no show made of it.
Nobody is born bigoted, but most adults have biases etc. I suppose the tricky part is whether or not we are able to recognize our really hurtful prejudices.
It comes from collective guilt--and reinforcement of that guilt with the government/educational system shoving "tolerance" down everyone's throat, pure and simple.
I am respectful of other people's rights to reasonably live as they wish, worship as they wish, dress as they wish, and conduct their affairs as they wish. As long as their cultural norms do not violate other's individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I do not support an measure that infringes on my rights to do the same. Tolerance should be a two way street, where each culture can live with and accept the other, not where one culture is forced to suffer another.
Since when did it become a bad thing to have tolerance, understanding, and compassion for other people?? I don't know about you, but my parents raised me to respect everyone - provided they show us respect as well. But I actually hate the word "tolerance", as it implies there's something negative that we must put up with... when really, we have no choice in the matter, and it's quite egotistical to assume our opinions are needed/wanted. Would you ask people to "tolerate" your religion/race/etc?? I'm Jewish, and if someone doesn't tolerate that, it's really their problem rather than mine. That's who I am, and if you don't like it - TOUGH!!

I don't think tolerance has been an all encompassing issue for you hoosier67. You're "tired" of it? You throw out question after question after question, then blast those who disagree with you. Tolerance? It doesn't seem you've put much energy into it, especially to already be exhausted by it from a personal effort.
If we had less as a nation, how do you think you'd fit in judging by the things you've stated regarding your personal life in this forum?
Should others be 'tired' of giving you the courtesy of tolerance?
How about you answer your own question.
