Man sues eHarmony for discrimination - Collegenews. (http://www.collegenews.com/index.php?/article/man_sues_eharmony_for_discrimination_57439/ - broken link)

What are your thoughts on this?

I feel it's unfair to eHarmony. Why are they obligated to cater to gays? There are other sites he can sign up and register. Or he can create and launch his own website.

I think someone found another way to get some free $$$$$.

Hubby owns a business doing heavy construction. Was not doing any hiring - they had all the crew they needed. A man walks onto the job site seeking work. He was told they are not hiring. He goes to a lawyer and sues hubby's company for discrimination. Man got nothing but cost my hubby $15,000 in legal costs.

Looks to me like the man didn't really wanted a job - he just wanted some free $$$. If he really wanted a job, he would have turned in a resume/job app and may have gotten called when they were hiring. Think after the lawsuit hubby would ever consider hiring him?

I read another story of a hungry Southerner who ALSO sued these guys. He thought the site was "eHominy", and was upset when they failed to provide the grits he'd anticipated.

Takes all kinds, I guess....

I'm gay and I don't think that this battle was chosen wisely. There are bigger fish to fry.

I agree, and I also don't think it was his place. I don't see why it wouldn't be their right not to offer that service if they choose not to.
