they already got 25 billion in the congressional budget! they must be in serious trouble to not be able to make do with the 25 billion that they already are supposed to get, in addition to the money that the loan arm GMAC gets. now they have upped this bailout to 37 billion so that looks like a way to sneak in an extra 37 billion to me. that is 62 billion dollars!

Competition is good. I say that there should be a "bailout" for ONE company. So let them start presenting their plans to be less stupid in the future, and let them start now!

There is more blame to go around than just management.

Default Management is to blame

The Senior Level Management of any manufacturing makes the decisions on what size, type of Widget will be made. It is also influenced by the board of Directors and the biggest shareholders of the company. These powers in a corportation give the orders. We want to make so many widgets and we want them to look like this and nothing else....This is the story sadly of why the powers defined above shoved the interests of Americas future aside a long time ago and misled the rank and file workers who must be devastated. The Big 3 Automakers were in trouble financially before 2008 but voodoo management styles kept them dysfuntional at the expense of the hard workers and the people of America
