Being a responsible gun owner, I'm perfectly happy with throwing the book at criminals who use guns in commission of a crime. They pi$$ me off because they give gunowners a bad name and give liberals an excuse to tighten gun laws against us.

So -

What category do you put us liberals in who are multiple gun owners?

This is just a way to devastate the shooting enthusiasts by making availability and price of ammo next to impossible to have.It will do nothing to help fight crime, and they know that. This is nothing more that another attempt to jab gunowners under the guise of "fighting crime".
BTW there are already identifiers, barrel groove imprints on bullets identify a murder weapon.I doubt this would ever pass anyway,it is just so stupid. Those that target shoot won't be able to afford it anymore while the gangs and criminals will just import ammo along with their drugs............

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, providing a data base of all
Ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your guns!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama , Arizona , California , Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , Maryland , Mississippi , Missouri, New Jersey, New York , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island , South Carolina, Tennessee , and Washington .

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!
To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:
http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

How do they propose to enforce this? Are they going to send gestapo-type agents door-to-door, searching for "uncoded" ammo? Throw honest citizens into jail, when they find a round or two of uncoded ammo (that they forgot they had)? Do they really think criminals are going to comply?

So if some killer (aforehand) places nothing but coded ammo in his house, then uses a few uncoded ones to take someone's life, then all the cops are going to find is that "someone with uncoded ammo did it", and not the real killer with all the "legal coded ammo" decoys in his house.
I can see billions upon billions of rounds of "uncoded" ammo going underground, just before the deadline (Read: sold to the criminal element)
Another stupid whacko idea from the left...takes aim at the honest, law-abiding citizens, and not criminals...
This bill does nothing but help arm the criminals in our society...and jack up prices (tax) for everybody else...

Bud

As with many other things, the consequences be damned, as long as there's TAX money to be made....
The fact that it is un enforceable, and totally inane in terms of practicality, likely means little. The fact that it will produce another stream of TAX revenue is what the "legislators" may be looking at most closely?
