On Nightline last night: President George W. Bush said in an interview Monday that the Bible is "probably not" literally true and that a belief that God created the world is compatible with the theory of evolution. "I think you can have both," said Bush.
Yeah--it certainly is possible. The thing is that what he's saying is so damn obvious. I think the vast majority of us were at least twelve steps ahead of him...not a shock.

I wonder what the religious right must be thinking & what my sister's mother in law is as well since she voted for Dubya because she felt he was a "good Christian"!

Uh huh? And? I've heard people say this all my life and no one ridiculed them for it. Disagree, sure. Go into attack mode over it? No. Are we running out of things to bash Bush over the head with here or what?
It would be encouraging news if I thought the President knew what "literal" meant.
