The following is an excerpt from a story on MSNBC about getting the stimulus package passed as soon as possible. I have to say Obama doesn't seem to have the problem that alot of his supporters on here do and that is placing blame. He is correct in that it doesn't matter how our economy got into the shape it is in the thing now is to work together to get it out of this condition that means Dems and Reps coming together for one sole purpose. If he keeps on being like this and follows through he just might win my approval yet. Not that I would imagine he cares one way or another if I approve of him or not.

Obama plans meetings next week with other congressional leaders — including Republican members whose support he will need — and made an effort not to blame his predecessor, the unpopular President George W. Bush.
'Optimistic'
"However we got here, the problems we face today are not Democratic problems or Republican problems," Obama said. "The dreams of putting a child through college, or staying in your home, or retiring with dignity and security know no boundaries of party or ideology. ... I am optimistic that if we come together to seek solutions that advance not the interests of any party, or the agenda of any one group, but the aspirations of all Americans, then we will meet the challenges of our time just as previous generations have met the challenges of theirs."

There certainly won't be a stimulus bill on his first day (isn't that what he promised?). I would be surprised if something is ready by the end of the month. Fortunately Republican senators have enough sense to say 'hey slow down before we throw away another trillion dollars'. What he proposes and what actually passes will probably be pretty different.

At the end of the day if whatever Obama tries does help he will get full credit for saving the world, but if it doesn't work Bush will get all the blame.

How about the dream of living your life without being half-slave to a government that rules over you without your direct consent?

I think that's referred to as "growing a pair 8 years late"! These would be the same guys that voted for every big business and "old frat" giveaway that GW Bush asked for, and now blame him for being a "socialist". Or are they just perfecting their pronunciation in order to have it in good form to use on Obama?

That's because his followers here weren't born without sin, unlike our Messiah.

Obama is being who he is, a disciplined, focused, smart and intelligent leader. He has a tall order on hand and will have the authority to work on the issues and avoid idiotic steps that involve non-decisions and incompetence of the outgoing administration.

People like me, however, expect accountability and want to ensure that those who get to decide LEARN from mistakes. This learning cannot happen by turning a blind eye, ignoring what got us into this situation.

You are not oppposed to learning, are you?
