And I'm proud to say I never voted for the guy. And anybody who didn't should pat yourself on the back.

At least we tried.

I can't say that I'm surprised, true conservatives felt somewhat alienated by how large government grew during his administration. Some would go as far as to say he was not a true representation of the conservative party. Senator McCain never stood a chance because of him being generalized as another Bush. I have to admit that under the Bush administration my company had the most productive 6 years its experienced and it continues to do well (Natural gas Exploration). He definitely did not get everything right but i feel he made a valid attempt at pursuing what he though was the direction America should have gone in. Things I'm not looking forward to in an Obama administration, even larger government involvement in our daily lives, slicing the budget for national defense, stricter gun laws. Things I am looking forward to are a renewed sense of direction in this "war" if that's what we can still call it, hopefully a new approach to politics. I'm reserving my opinions because I really don't trust politicians no matter what affiliation they claim. I would really like for the bible thumpers to stop telling me how to live my life and stop throwing god into their political agenda, thats one thing I won't miss about President Bush. Overall he was average to me.

Americans are responsible for providing a better life for themselves. I'm only 25 and I understand this. Don't expect a president to make everything better with the swipe of a wand.

perhaps, but when you have politicians who work against you and work for the oil and war profiteers and the top 1%, it is hard for the average American to really get ahead
