Obama is wrong on this, but it's hardly news. He telegraphed last spring that he was going to adopt the Bush view. Whether it'll get through the federal courts, which have eviscerated a lot of Bush-era legislation, is an open question.
It will be interesting to see how the "Let's prosecute Bush for his violations of our civil rights" crowd will proceed, having now to include Obama as a co-defendant.

Politicians don't lie. They just evolve in their apprehension of the truth.
Regardless, I still have faith in Obama's abilities. He has given evidence in this instance that he is aware of reality, unlike many of his supporters.
This is not necessarily true. Apparently the support was filed by the DOJ, which is still under Bush-appointee control, as Holder's nomination is being held up.
Yep, this was brought up on his campain.....one item that is not "time for change" and I agree, keep America Free, some things must utilized, like it or not....
