no, but they both grew out of the 60's in response to police violence. the black Panthers exercised their right to bear arms to protect their community, they also apposed MLK's non-violence methods. Not very long ago when Micheal Jackson was in the news , he was using the Black Muslims as Security Gaurds to escort him to and from court.
