Dems had Hillary, Repubs dig up Palin. Dems have Obama, Repubs dig up Steele. It's like follow the leader. Oh they got women and blacks, lets get us some too!! Only thing is, Dems got the originals while Repubs got the reject generic brand that doesn't work.

I like Mike Steele, a real smart guy who I think would be a good choice. He has a very good strategic approach to politics, and would significantly help getting them back on track.

That other stuff, who cares?

I resided in Maryland when Steele was Lt. Gov. He was token then and he remains a token..He and Erlich were voted out after one term for a reason. Steele's pandering to blacks worked once but the second time around people saw Good Ole' Mike for what he was.

I was actually referring to this....

If they didn't pick an African American they would be racist and if they do he is a token. No weight at all on the career or the person.

Personally, I have always been a advocate of competition in a free market of electoral politics. If the Republican Party wants to make honest in roads amongst African American voters, more power to them. It will keep the Democratic Party honest (no more Sistah Solider moments) and with two parties vie heavily for the African American vote, African Americans can only benefit. But, having said that, Steele, like Watts found out, being the front man for the GOP is a heavy row to hoe.
