Is it "new" to acknowledge Muslim interests and show respect to the Muslim world? Obama doesn't just think so, he said so again to millions in his al-Arabiya interview, insisting on the need to "restore" the "same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago." Astonishing. In these most recent 20 years - the alleged winter of our disrespect of the Islamic world - America did not just respect Muslims, it bled for them. It engaged in five military campaigns, every one of which involved - and resulted in - the liberation of a Muslim people: Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.
The two Balkan interventions - as well as the failed 1992-93 Somali intervention to feed starving African Muslims (43 Americans were killed) - were humanitarian exercises of the highest order, there being no significant US strategic interest at stake. In these 20 years, this nation has done more for suffering and oppressed Muslims than any nation, Muslim or non-Muslim, anywhere on earth. Why are we apologizing?
And what of that happy US-Muslim relationship that Obama imagines existed "as recently as 20 or 30 years ago" that he has now come to restore? Thirty years ago, 1979, saw the greatest US-Muslim rupture in our 233-year history: Iran's radical Islamic revolution, the seizure of the US embassy, the 14 months of America held hostage.
Distorted facts. The problem is not Obama or the Islamic faith but white racist views that falsely thinks that they are the saviors of humanity by pimping the Bible, Christianity and Jesus. Obama has been president for a few years but the racist voice of conservative American attack Obama as if all these problems started when he became president.
The president inherited all of what America had been dealing with. Where was the conservative voice when Bush was president. They supported and rallied behind him. America is an imperialist power. No Muslim nation is an imperialist power and most Muslim /Islamic states were dominated by colonizers of European people. It was European " Christians " who climed they were fighting to save souls for the Lord that caused much of the conflict in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
The Europeans moved into the middle East and began to control the Jewish faith. Before 1947 there was little conflict between Jews and Muslims. In fact the conflict was with white Christians coming in to dominate and oppress the native people of Palestine. This conflict continues today and may play out until the day of Judgement if it's not ever resolved.
Why does America think that it's the boss of the world? It sees itself that it cant do know wrong. Everyone else is wrong. The mentality is everyone need to be under American ways and constitution and everything will be all right as long as everyone obey the white conservative leaders of immoral homosexual, capitalist , bankrupt ,greedy , racist America. Obama did not state this. It stated with those who have a dim view and callous hearts and minds.
