I have no problem with autistic people so please don't take offense to this.
What I DO have a problem with is parents who think they are ENTITLED to their state or country paying for the expense of a private teacher/private behavioral therapist for their child simply because their child has autism.
I was in the car listening to NPR and the Day to Day section was talking about the United States recession having an effect on states being able to provide services for families with autistic children.Basically the parents were lamenting that the state wouldn't pay for the services and that they would move elsewhere where the benefits were more generous.
Now.....if you decide to become a parent, you should basically know that there is a chance your child will have special needs. If you feel you cannot afford the costs of these special needs....please don't expect taxpayers to pay for your choice to have a child.
