Broc Blegen decided to honor Bush as a sort of experiment into the creation and respect of monuments. He debuted the monument in Washington, D.C. on the last day of Bush’s presidency, Jan. 20, as Barack Obama was sworn in. The reception by the crowd was not good. In fact, some threw their shoes at it ( see below) and tore it down.

That is hillarious!!! Thanks for posting it!!!! Very reminiscent of Saddam Hussein's statue being torn down....

The shoe throwing was a great touch!!!
