I think you know who Chavez is... the referendum is almost done and it looks like Chavez will be able to run for a third term.... he promised the people socialism... and they wanted it.... lets see how it turns out...

George Ciccariello-Maher at UC Berkeley and resides in Caracas wrote this article over the past week.
George, has this week decided to expose the New York Times' hypocrisy regarding term limits for Chavez, but holding an entire different opinion in regards to America's main man in Columbia, the equally populist dictator Alvaro Uribe.

This shouldn't be a big surprise. Chavez has made the poor dependent on his social programs.

The US has funded opposition groups in Venezuala to the tune of almost 1 Million Dollars.

U.S. Bankrolling Is Under Scrutiny for Ties to Chávez Ouster - New York Times

Why is it OK for us to do this, but not OK for other countries to mettle in our elections?

Which is the right-winger way of saying that after nearly 30 years of brutal repression and exploitation by the Oligarchy, Chavez has turned a portion of the country's oil wealth toward benefitting the people of Venezuela rather than the Oligarchy.

People in Venezuela are dancing in the streets at the prospect of becoming the next Cuba. I don't get it. How many more places does socialism need to fail before people realize it doesn't work? This Chavez guy is gonna be around for a really long time.
