I get how Blagojevich rubs us all the wrong way, but this is like when people were making a big deal over whether or not Obama had "had contact" with Blagojevich or Blagojevich's office. Contact and fundraising does not equal corruption unless you knew of the corruption.

To me, this is another right wing attempt to make mountains out of molehills. Blagojevich is a crooked politician, so what. Kick his azz out and let's get on with it. Do we indict the person who sat next to him at a Starbucks next?

Seriously folks, get some perspective.
That might work if it was just Blago and Buris but its not

How you feel is completely irrelevant. Fact is that the Demcrats ran in 2006 on a promise to raise ethics standards and they did. They ran in 2008 on a promise to raise ethics standards again and they have. Deal with it...

You are either a Liar, complete idiot or a Troll.....

I am embarrassed for you and I sincerely feel bad for you and anyone you interact with.

Violations of ethics are bad for both parties but they all need to be exposed. Someone like saganista can stick his head in the sand but the bottom line is that any politician should be held accountable for ethics violations. We need better representation and a better class of folks to lead us. No one is perfect but there are obvious things that one shouldn't do.

It seems to me that all the tax issues could have been resolved with a meeting between the parties involved, their acountants and the IRS. Do all of you completely understand the US Tax code? If you do you have a very lucrative future.

I'm sure that's what it sounds like inside the echo-chamber. For most people, saying that you're going to raise the bar, and then actually holding yourselves to those higher standards looks more like a sign of integrity than foolishness.

You mean like fabricating claims of Henry Waxman proposing to regulate the content balance of internet sites. Yeah, that kind of thing is sleazy alright, but it's the right-wing that makes a veritable habit out of such...

Have you understood a single word that I've posted? It is the Democrats who have been pushing the sunshine into the darkness, then keeping to the principle having once established it.

Such as misunderstanding the tax code? You'd better pray that you never earn an income high or complex enough to cause you to have to make such determinations.

Everyone paid his or her taxes. Questions are over whether they were in the right amount or not. In a system of voluntary reporting, such questions are raised with hundreds of thousands of taxpayers every year. Blagojevich has been removed from office. If Burriss' sworn testimony was materially inaccurate or incomplete, he will be dispatched as well. Most gifts from lobbyists are banned. Those that aren't must be reported.
So basically, you are partisan biased and it is perfectly ok for a Democrat to be unethical and a Republican not to be.

Gotcha

What about paying back taxes shown to be due is some sort of free pass? What about being removed from office for nefarious dealings is some sort of free pass? What about no longer being able to accept gifts from lobbyists is some sort of free pass? What reason would anyone have for believing that you have any actual idea of what it is you are talking about?
