Now that is the hope and change I was looking for. Even Bush was not stupid enough to let his Secretary of Stae make such a bonehead statement. Heck why let human rights get in the way with one of our largest trading partners Too funny. I wonder how we will spin this one..

Well, let's face it -- that's been our "unofficial" policy since we gave China preferred trading partner status. Hillary is just saying what the rest know but don't have the guts to say in public.

**** off activists, or **** off China. We have never let China's human rights issues get in the way of our trading with them, and were not gonna start now. People need to remember that America really isn't the "world police" that got us into Vietnam and Iraq.

If anyone is shocked at Clinton's statement then they surely have been on another planet for the last 10-20 years....America adores the Communist Chinese, ignores their horrible human rights record ...because wealthy Americans can Make A Buck over there and THAT is ALL that matters.

It's the American way.

God Bless America.

Gave you a rep for that one. At least she is honest. How refreshing.

That is true, Who?Me?!,

But look at what happened when America decided not to ignore Iraqi human rights under a dictator. American's on the left were appauled that our military men and women gave Iraqi citizens a chance to be free.

China is a place where Americans can make money, for sure.

Until you come up with a plan to change China's governmental "system" permanently, shouldn't we try to have good relations with them?

Even the Chinese government thinks it would be a mistake to screw America. They have a financial stake in this too. They want money as much as the next guy. And the standard of living that comes along with wealth.

To say that America ignores human rights in China, is a stretch, but, what do you propose?

But...I thought all that would "change" with an obama administration. No?

I know that's the way things have been done but it surprises me that liberals are so accepting of human rights violation... I wonder if that means we can do it over here... oh that's right... only if Obama is doing it... any other president and its "unacceptable"....
